SOCHA Show Ada, OK

A very long & hot, but great show we had in Ada over the holiday week.  The photos are up on my website.  If you need help with ordering, please feel free to call me.  I can do most any edits or text you want on the photo if necessary, however due to the action-shot nature of cutting, if a photo looks blurry on the computer screen it will still have a little blur in the print.  I can only sharpen it to a certain extent.

We are currently in Ft Worth, TX at the NCHA Derby showing horses so there will be a small delay in the mailing of prints until after July 25th.   Thank you for your patience.

I will also be taking photos at the July 31-Aug 1 cutting in Ada, OK.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Show Photos–Deep Fork CHA, Bristow, OK

I got to shoot show photos from all 5 days of the 2009 NCHA point year kick-off shows in Oklahoma.  The above photos are from the Deep Fork CHA show, Dec 28-30th, at the Brewster Ranch Arena in Bristow, OK.  It was a marathon of showing for everyone involved, but it was also a lot of fun for everyone.  These were my first shows to shoot with strobe light flashes and it was quite a learning experience for me, but at the end of the week I came out with a lot more knowledge about flash photography and show photography than I went in with.  After shooting over 800 entries in 5 days of cutting, you’re going to learn some things.  My most important lesson was to always have more flash batteries than you think you’ll need and just because a printer works at home doesn’t mean it’s going to cooperate when you set up at the show.  Lessons learned!

The {W} Family

I had the privilege of doing a shoot with the {W} family last weekend.  They were so much fun & came up with lots of great poses.  And the kids are absolutely adorable and were so much fun.  Here’s a preview:

“C” family session

I was so excited to get to do the “C” family session this afternoon.  They let me try out a new location with them & it turned out beautifully!  Sun was a little harsh, but the scenery was so pretty, it was worth it.  They are such a beautiful family & were so much fun to work with.  Here’s an initial preview.

Family Photo Session

I did a really fun session with a great brother-sister pair last week for Christmas card photos.  They were so much fun to work with & I was really pleased with how the photos came out.  Here’s a preview:

11-22-08 Cutting Horse clinic

Family Portrait

Finally I have a family portrait of my own family, including myself.  As the photographer, I’m always the one behind the camera and never in the photos.  But for Thanksgiving I got my wish of a family photo.  And below you will see my own custom Christmas card I created from that same photo.
